Barry Cofield's Official Website

Welcome to Barry Cofield's Official Website!

Barry is a defensive tackle on the Super Bowl XLII Champion New York Giants.  He was drafted by the Giants in the 4th round of the 2006 draft out of Northwestern University and has been a starter ever since.

Barry played three positions on the defensive line at Northwestern, both defensive tackle spots along with left defensive end. He started in 36 of the 49 games played for the Wildcats, playing in every game as a true freshman. Barry helped lead the bowl-starved Wilcats (only 6 appearances in school history) to the 2003 Motor City Bowl and the 2005 Sun Bowl. He was named to the All Big Ten Second Team in 2005, his senior season.

Barry is a native of Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He was a Super Prep All-Midwest Region and 2nd-team All-State defensive end in 2001. He was also 1st-team All-Lake Erie League and All-District honors.

In his rookie training camp with the Giants, he won the starting job and started each game that season. Barry is the first Giants rookie defensive player to start each game since Lawrence Taylor and Bill Neill did so in 1981.

In 2008, Barry returns as the starting defensive tackle and looks to help the Giants return to the Super Bowl.
